The AP sues the Trump administration; a buffoonish acting US Attorney stands to give us lots of material; Sam Bankman-Fried has an audacious new grift that just might work.
Considering what happened to a number of Trump's lawyers in and around his last administration, I've been speculating on which of his current batch of lawyers will be first to be disbarred. I'm betting on Bove, but wouldn't rule out Martin. RFK is a lawyer too isn't he? And how about Kash Patel? Didn't he already lie to congress? So many good choices.
In the not too distant future only the president's own team will ask questions at press conferences and do interviews (with the occasional guest YouTuber or podcaster). I mean why not completely control the narrative?
And that is surely constitutional -- perhaps even constitutionally protected -- so it's hard to see what's unconstitutional about dissolving press corp control even to do something as horrible as what they are doing.
Would you guys ever be willing to do a special episode of a political nature? I like the regular podcast, but kind of want to hear you guys duke it out over political topics. Understand if that's not your bag. Figured I'd ask.
Josh has his other podcast that's just getting back into regular releases, "Very Serious". I don't know why he doesn't promote it more on this show. Mostly political/news conversations "from the center".
Sadly Ken isn't a regular on that show, but it might scratch your itch if you want more political discussion.
That being said, a debate between Josh and Ken on anything would be a worthwhile listen. Doesn't even have to be politics; wherever their personal interests lie. Best Dungeons & Dragons campaign? Mayonnaise - foundational condiment for any meal or disgusting sauce for people who hate flavor?
So we're one pardon and one SCOTUS decision away from SBF replacing Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve chair?

Is it actually a big deal in terms of ratings to have press pool access or is it just a matter of status among the press?

Disgusting sauce.
It's really good with herb seasonings stirred in and brushed over chicken or salmon before baking. Truly a moisturizing delicacy :)
