Listen now | Trump's appeal bond is reduced to an amount he likely can post; some of Judge Aileen Cannon's clerks have quit; Rod Blagojevich gets Seuss'd in federal court.
I've got a question for the legal minds here and apologies if it's been asked before but I missed it. If Trump is convicted in the hush money case, doesn't Florida law ban felons from voting?
Illinois resident here, deeply appreciative of the Balgo-Dunkfest at the end there, and I just can't resist a dogpile - I got a 9m Cameo from him in 2021 for organizing a secret santa exchange, and it was absolutely unhinged. I also made a point on a vacation in 2015 to walk lap around Englewood correctional, out of principal. Glad to hear some color commentary of the details on the lawsuit being eviscerated.
Can we please stop calling them "truths" and start calling them "pravdas". More relevant and gives a more appropriate impression of the propaganda being spouted.
Technical question for ST enthusiasts: is anyone able to get the podcast onto their Apple Watch? I had been using Overcast successfully since the start of ST, but two episodes ago downloads to my watch stopped with a “not authorized” error. I like to listen via my watch on runs, without my phone. I’ve never been able to get the Apple podcast app to work with ST on my Apple Watch.
One correction Josh:The AP story didn’t say that the outcome for the Trump fraud case was unusual. The story was written before the verdict. What the story said was that dissolving Trump’s business without any victims would be unusual. James asked for that remedy, but notably, this was not a punishment that was meted out to the Trump Organization. Therefore, this case does not stand alone because Engeron didn’t go that far to punish Trump.
LOL I got the alert from BBC about SBF getting 25 years mere moments after I saw the alert for this new Serious Trouble podcast
We are nothing if not consistent.
It's Destiny. Podcast Drops, Sentences Fly!
I wasn't sure if there would be a podcast this week, until I saw the SBF sentence. Then I knew one would be released imminently.
Would it be possible to adapt Oscar Wilde's line in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ERNEST ....
“'To lose one parent, Mr Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."
to Judge Cannon's loss of clerks?
Bob
Next podcast, I'm expecting Josh to start asking, Avenatti-style, "is Aileen Cannon a good judge?"
Blagojevich did get a previous name-drop in this episode of All the Presidents' Lawyers: https://www.kcrw.com/news/shows/lrc-presents-all-the-presidents-lawyers/the-wave-of-pardons
i KNEWWWWW there was no way we did four years of ATPL with no blago! Of course, the pardon. Right in front of my face.

Title 28, Section 1983 you say Ken? I didn’t realize this was a jurisdictional cause of action.
o coitus
I was particularly amused by the references to Tehachapi and Jackson Pollock in the Blagojevich coda. Thank you!

Charlie Sykes calls them "bleats", and I can never think of them as anything else now.

Maybe "assertions"? I like things understated.
And I suggest the posts coming out of another social network be renamed "x-cretions".
Is Michael Avenatti a good prison interview about Stormy Daniels?
