Remember Joseph DiGenova? He was a Trump defender from the first administration brought back to help with the investigation into the investigators that DOJ is running down in south Florida. Well, he’s gone again. He seems to have had some disputes with the Attorney General about the conduct of that investigation — “if you want indictments where there’s no evidence, you have an ethical problem,” he told the New York Post. Meanwhile, former CIA director John Brennan’s lawyer filed a declaration making clear that he’s been told there are multiple investigations involving him, including one in which he’s a target. Trump’s DOJ clearly continues to push toward indictments in this investigation, but they’ll be doing it without DiGenova’s help.

And we look at bizarrely relaxed hiring metrics at the FBI and a right-wing media figure who resolved defamation litigation with an apology for lying about Kash Patel’s girlfriend.
