Vance meets with Bondi and Patel to chart a course on Epstein; ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas is charged with running illegal poker games in the Valley; California grand juries keep returning no bill.
I was hoping to hear more about how this no contest plea happened. My understanding was that US courts don't like no contest pleas and don't usually allow them. So I was curious how it happened in this case!
Presumably I could host my friends and hire a professional dealer to deal? Is it when I basically run it as a casino - making money on the games, not as a participant but as the house?
Re: California grand juries declining to return a bill of indictment - can a federal attorney take another stab at the same case later with a different grand jury? That's not QUITE another trial on the same charges.
We are watching the destruction of our Republic with supposedly apolitical entities: Justice Department and FBI partying (coordinating a plan) with Shady Vance for more than super DC appetizers and adult beverages...but not talking about Mad King Darn'old Drumpf of Dementia-Felonia's involvement in Epsteingate.
Regarding the 2007 Epstein plea agreement, Alexander Acosta, apparently has said that he was informed about Epstein, "He's intelligence. Go easy on him." - Is there anything to this story?
A sports media (Jim Rome) take on the Gilbert Arenas story:

(Notes: 818 is the area code for the San Fernando Valley. Gilbert Arenas wore number 0 on his jerseys and at one point was nicknamed "Agent Zero".)

What is the line between a private poker game among wealthy people with hired help and a criminal illegal gambling enterprise?

Not related to the episode, but there's a technical problem with the website at the moment. Right now, https://serioustrouble.show/ shows an error page instead of redirecting to https://www.serioustrouble.show/ (which works).
Hi there: I can't replicate this error, either when I'm logged into substack or when I'm logged out. Are you still seeing it?
Nope, it's working now, thanks!
